Dimsum @ Damansara Uptown
It started some time ago when me and several friends didn't know where to brunch on Saturdays. So we went to this dimsum place at Damansara Uptown: Restoran Ho Choong Tuck (same row as Uptown 37; formerly Fajar Supermarket). It serves good dimsum and I'm sorta addicted to it. Whenever my mom asks me for brunch suggestions over the weekend, she'll start off with: "No dimsum this week, jelak liao"...=.='

However, I managed to get 2 "mah lat lou"s to eat there last weekend =P

So what's good here? First of all, it's shaded from the morning sun by the surrounding shop lots! That's a luxury since I can't afford expensive dimsums @ high-end chinese restaurants =. And by saying that, it means this place is kinda affordable relatively. Okay lar, I don't think I know how to review dimsums, I just know that they taste good and I like them =P See for yourselves lah!

Lurrv the Shrimp Balls. A must try! But the porridge was just "so-so" lar... With that amount of dimsums ordered, it cost us about RM10-15 per person.

That's all on dimsum. Time to sleep. Ciao. Anyone heading to the premiere screening of The Golden Compass @ Pavilion tomorrow? Do let me know! I'll be there. =)

My Dopod D810. My Love
Woohoo, I didn't get to share about my new toy since my blog went into "hibernation"... I now present you the Dopod D810 GPS PDA phone (or now known as the HTC P3600i)! Okay lar, I know it's nothing to brag about with you guys holding iPhone and such; and I bought this almost a year ago. But, since I took some photos while testing out my camera recently.. might as well post it =P

I painfully sold my Sony Ericsson W810i (which explains why I stopped blogging due to the lack of a proper "camera") to get this baby. Why? Because of its built in GPS chip. I get lost all the time in KL, and sometimes even PJ. So I need someone/something to guide me. Since I don't have the someone YET, I got myself something =P Cost me about RM2900 a year back and the current upgraded model (HTC P3600i, faster processor and bigger ROM) will set you back around RM2799.

So what do you get at that price? You pay for a built in GPS chip, WiFi, Bluetooth, 128MB rom, Samsung 400Mhz processor, 2.8" touch screen, miniSD slot, 3G, 2MP camera, secondary video call camera; all running on Windows Mobile 6.0. It usually comes in black but I got myself the limited pearl white edition. I'm not a professional phone reviewer but frankly this phone serves me well. It's speedy (provided that you do not overwhelm it with apps), and it's seeeexxyyyy.

N95 or Dopod D810? Dopod/HTC all the way (if the lack of 5MP camera is not bothering you). You get: 1. touch screeeeen, and not tiny buttons which leads you no where. 2. Windows Mobile 6, which can do wonders. 3. You get to install your own GPS maps/navigator and not limited to the packaged maps which has no voice navigation (c'mon, constantly focusing on the phone while driving is not a cool experience, you need voice navi).

Most importantly, it's compatible with cool apps like the TouchFlo and Cube Launcher (available for download at xda-developers). Who cares if a N95 can auto rotate when you can get a phone at a cheaper price which can do this! Watch video after the jump.

Well, that's all I have to say about my beloved phone. If you wish to get one, try and search for the white ones as black ones have paint peel problem on the casing. All above are just my 2 cents worth, some people would still prefer symbian based phones over PDA. Don kill me =)

Joanne's Hard Rock Birthday
Happy Birthday Joanne! Hope you had a blast yesterday. And yes KokBen, her birthday will be my second post after "revival" =) Long story short, we had dinner at Hard Rock KL for Joanne's birthday yesterday. Yada yada yada.. food and cam whoring...

Food was great! And the Trio Combo is extremely filling, not for the lighthearted. Comparatively, the price you pay for the food you get is not that bad afterall! I mean, I would rather spend on Hard Rock than TGIF. Just my 2 cents worth.

Happy hour ends at 9. You're entitled to buy-1-free-1 magaritas etc. Random shots on the way...

Lesson of the day for waiters/waitresses: Ask about the age of the celebrated person. Do not just light up all candles you find in the box. =P

We then went to Somo @ Mont Kiara for a drink. Great place to hang out, nice ambience, good tunes. You might already know from the name, they serve fusion Jap food as well as some good range of alcoholic/non alc. beverage. I heard you get cheap beer @ Happy Hours too; but I don't drink.. so no details on prices for you. It's right next to Coffee Bean @ Mon't Kiara; where White Palace used to be I think..

Lunch @ Al-Marjan
And jit's Back =) Let's start off with lunch @ Al-Marjan. It wasn't planned, but my first post for the "revived" jit's Blog is yet again... food. We had a farewell lunch for Francis (my client manager) the other day @ Al-Marjan KLCC which serves Lebanese and Persian food. Despite not being a "daily-lunch" compatible restaurant, the food wasn't too bad (better if it weren't that salty..yucks).

Frankly, there's not much choices in the menu. We had nearly 20 pax for lunch; and I only manage to snap 3 miserable dishes. Why? We all ordered the same stuff. And seriously, we thought they cooked with sea water. Super salty! Like eating ham-yu. Or is this default Lebanese style cooking? =

Posting this took me like 30 minutes. Haih, blogging skills rusty liao. Random shots after the jump.

OK LAH. First post of revived blog gau dim. Can go yam cha edi. =)

Since "the firm" is known for having no work life balance; I strive to blog about all these just to prove that: there can be work life balance... occasionally. And to answer the question in your mind, "Are you very free?" The answer is, I try (work) very hard to make myself free =)
